Trip to Taegu

We had a wonderful weekend visiting a family that we met when mom and dad were visiting- the Hendrix family.  They graciously welcomed us in to their home and we had a fabulous time.  We went hiking and visited the “World’s Largest Budda”.  We discussed how different it was from Christianity in how they worship large statues and pray to it.

The fall leaves were beautiful and the weather was perfect!

Fowler Family picture- (I asked Ryan to take the banana out of the picture and he wouldn’t)

Here is a cute picture of Cormac.  He’ll be 12 weeks on Weds!

We are going to host them down here soon and will probably be making more trips to Taegu soon.

The Navy Ball!

We attended our very first Navy Ball and we had a blast.  Cormac slept almost the entire time, and he looked precious in his shirt, tie and vest.  Ryan of course looked handsome in his uniform too.

Blankets, blankets and more blankets…

People have been so generous to Cormac!  He’s probably received 25 different blankets- My mom gave me some from when my brother was a baby, and a few of my baby blankets. He also received several that were handmade.  I did a little photo shoot today of the ones that were made especially for him.

Blanket from LaVon Davis, Andrea’s mother

Blanket from Joanne Glasgow- I need to get more pictures of him with it still

Blanket from Bonnie Strayer- and he’s showing off “tummy time”

Blanket from Theresa Fowler

We appreciate all of the gifts that he has received, especially these that took a lot of work to make!  Can you tell how much I love taking pictures of our little man?

Last weekend

You know it’s been a busy weekend and week when you don’t get the chance to blog about it until the following weekend.

Last weekend was wonderful to say the least.  Friday night we went to a party at the restaurant on base.  Tammie, the Chaplain’s wife watched Cormac for a few hours for us and it was really nice- great company and good food.

Saturday was relaxing and Sunday we went to church.  Cormac slept through the entire service like he usually does, which was great.

Ryan was off Monday AND Tuesday for Columbus Day, so we spent a lot of time together as a family.  He ended up having to go to work several different times, but for the most part he was able to relax.

Ryan and I are training for a race next month here in Chinhae.  Ryan is running a 1/2 marathon and I am going to run a 5K.  He’s been going on his long runs and enjoys the exercise and peace and quiet.  We haven’t really used the jogging stroller for running yet, but we love it for long walks.  Kim and I have been walking several times per week on the ROK base and it is really nice.  We went by the water the other day and it was beautiful!

Here is a picture of Cormac from this week.  He turned 2 months old!

Some cool pictures!

I got a new lens for my camera that allows me to take Micro pictures (really close up).  I can take ones with more details than this, but I was experimenting yesterday taking pictures of Cormac.  Let me know what you think.

Cormac is EIGHT weeks old!

Wow!  Time does fly by when you have a baby!  The past eight weeks have been wonderfully busy, exhausting yet exhilarating.

It was great having both sets of Grandparents here and we were sad to see them go.  Cormac was so spoiled and  it was wonderful having them here.

Here are some recent pictures of him.  He’s starting to get a little chubby, which I love!

Our little guy is getting big!  He weighs almost 12 lbs. now and he is starting to be a lot more alert.  A few nights he’s slept up to six consecutive hours, but the average is 2-3 at a time.  We are still tired all of the time, but we’re getting in a daily routine.  It’s been great with Ryan’s schedule because he can work through lunch and spend time with Cormac.  We went there two days this week to have lunch with Daddy.  Cormac loved it.

He’s also had his first “stay away from home”.  Kim watched him for a little over an hour yesterday.  I joked that I was going to call every five minutes to check on him, but I trust her completely.  He was great and it gave me a little time to myself.  Sydney, Kim’s daughter was super excited to get to hang out and care for him.  She’s precious.

Duke is doing great too although he doesn’t get as much attention.  We do give him a lot of treats and a few of our friends have sent him presents lately.  Thank you Guy and Mishel!  That was awesome!

I promise I will update the blog more often.  We’ve been a bit busy lately.
