My surgery went well and I'm doing okay so far.  Thank goodness for pain killers! 

If you want to see a cute video of Cormac, on the right side of our blog go to the Hendrix Family blog.  We spent the weekend in Taegu and he was dancing up a storm!  Thanks again to our amazing friends the Hendrix's and the Fiscus family for a great time! 

Just a few more weeks and we will be home!  It's crazy!   ]]> I haven’t been posting much.

They say that moving is one of the most stressful events that a couple endures while they are married.  It's funny and ironic because after we move NEXT summer we will have moved FOUR times in six years!  Fortunately this time around it hasn't been too stressful.  We've learned that the stuff we have is just "stuff" and that it is all replaceable.  We've also learned how little a person can actually live with.  Do you really need 10 different skillets and 40 pairs of shoes?  I've been nagging Ryan to get rid of some shoes for a long time...  ha ha!  

Since the move hasn't been too stressful, life in other areas has made up for it.  We found out last week that I have an umbilical hernia which will require surgery in the next few weeks.  We just made a two day trip to Seoul for that.  Cormac isn't gaining enough weight like he should be, so we are drastically changing his diet and he had some blood tests run.  We aren't too concerned, but are hoping the changes will make him gain some weight soon.  Ryan is traveling to Japan all of next week for work.  I decided against going with him for this trip since we were just there in May.  Then on the 16th we are shipping our car back to CA.  The week after that will be my surgery and the week after that, Ryan's replacement will arrive.  Then the week after that we head home to Cali!  This will be Cormac's second time in the U.S., but the first time in the Continental United States!  Yippee!  Then the week after that we head back to Ohio and West Virginia!  That's a little update on what's happening with us.  Hopefully the picture issue will resolve itself soon so we can post some new pics of Monkey!

Cormac had fun playing on the boxes! ]]> It is hard to believe we had a similar post two years ago announcing our arrival.  We had our packout this week and it was crazy!  We scheduled it early to try to avoid the rainy season, but when the movers showed up on Wednesday it was pouring rain.  They packed all of our stuff (my goodness, we have too much ”stuff”) and then they decided to come back on Saturday to put it on the truck.  Of course it was raining on Saturday too.  Oh well.  Hopefully it won’t all mold on it’s way back to California.

So then we put it on his head and he was cracking up! ]]> Little man is growing so fast!  He’s crawling, has four teeth and is quite amazing.  We still wish that his sleeping through the night would improve, but we aren’t sure what to do about it.  We would love your advice on it.

In typical celebrity fashion, he was interviewed prior to the race by a local newspaper reporter.  It was quite comical considering the interviewer spoke very little English and Ryan speaks very little Korean.  They took a bunch of pictures of him and of us and were planning on contacting him after the race to see how he did!




Aahhh!  He's finished with 13.1 miles!

We were so proud of him! ]]> Ryan ran his fourth half-marathon on Sunday (his second one here in Korea) and he did an awesome job!  The course was brutal with a ton of hills and by the time the race started it was already pretty hot.

Sydney even instructed them that she was going to be the first one to hug us and they had to wait!  We had a great lunch right on the water and spent the day with them.  Tanner was the perfect host- such a gentleman!  They showed us around and they have settled in to life there so well!  Very impressive!

We decided to stay for dinner as well and that allowed us to meet up with some friends from California that are now living there.  I have been wanting them to meet Kim and Curtis for months, so we finally were able to introduce them to each other.  The kids got along great and they are going to get together for a playdate sometime soon.

]]> On our way back from Hawaii we flew to Japan and we spent a few days there.  We love Japan and were hoping to visit it again before we left.  Plus, I desperately wanted to see Kim if we were able to.  It worked out perfectly!

There wasn't much time for really relaxing or doing anything really adventurous, but we were glad that we went for sure!  Cormac loved swimming and it was beautiful there!  It was a bit strange being back in the States and we experienced some reverse culture shock, so it was probably a good introduction before our move back in August.  Does a Kmart store really need 25 checkouts???  You have to wait in line for 10 minutes to try clothes on at a store?  Granted we were in some busy areas, but seriously!?  we have gotten used to a slower pace of life, so it will be an adjustment when we go back. 

We tried getting a good family picture several times and I think this one was the best one. 



While in Oahu we visited the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.  It was so poignant- we think every American should visit it.  It also made living overseas seem more worthwhile in some way. 





In Kauai we visited several popular locations including Spouting Horn and the Waimea Canyon, the "Grand Canyon of Hawaii".




I'm bummed these pictures are so foggy.  It was breathtakingly gorgeous!

For those of you that haven't been to Hawaii.  We highly recommend going there!  We loved Maui a few years ago and now we think Kauai is our new favorite island.  If you are going to travel there, let us know and we can give you tips on where to stay, and eat, etc...
