For months (per Brian Miller’s request) Ryan has been wanting to get Fried Chicken and beer (mik ju). We finally went last night. It was delicious! “Ma shi sayo!”
Our limited Korea actually helps us get pretty far. I guess the main things you need to learn are “please, thank you, delicious, good-bye, etc”…
We went to a bar after dinner and met several Koreans that spoke pretty good English too. One of the great things about Koreans is that they desperately want to practice speaking it. And since we love practicing our Hangul, it’s a win win situation for all.
On the way back to our car a guy stopped us to say “hello”. He was trying to communicate with us and another guy rode by on his bicycle and asked if we needed help translating. He spoke almost perfect English and told us that they guy simply wanted to say hello to us and that it was an honor meeting us! How cool is that?! It turns out that the guy on the bicycle is a Korean Navy Dr. (in residency)! When he found out what Ryan did he was impressed and said that he would love to take us out so he could continue practicing his English.
